This week Going Beyond Words is pleased to present on ACDA Radio and Choral Net two choral ensembles from the United States and a world-class professional choir from Belgium. First your will hear the 33 members of the Brigham Young University Singers under the baton of Andrew Crane. They will show their choral talent with a well known hymn of praise; a motet by Heinrich von Herzogenberg with the text…My Soul Doth Magnifies The Lord; Then there is a meaningful composition based on Proverbs Chapter 8 by British Composer Will Todd; You will also hear a very familiar Hymn tune from Johann Schutz and an American Folk/Gospel song. Making a cameo appearance will be the gifted singers from Western Michigan University Chorale led by Dr. Kimberly Dunn Adams with a short motet of praise by Orlando di Lasso. The feature work on this broadcast will be a composition by George Frederic Handel created when he was 22 which some choral thinkers consider one of his greatest virtuoso pieces. You will be amazed at the ten member choral ensemble and the thirteen instrumentalists as they wrap their talent around Dixit Dominus as they thrill you with the strong musicality. This will be offered by Vox Luminis guided by their artistic director Lionel Meuner taken from their 2010 CD of this glorious Work….clarity with enthusiasm.
