This week, Stan Schmidt, Host of Going Beyond Words offers to listeners on ACDA Radio and ChoralNet the second in the series of Advent and Christmas programs.    There are 16 carols of varied styles that will attract your ears from six countries plus two selections to reflect the start of Chanukah December 10^th.  There are some great classics such as O Magnum Mysterium by Lauridesen, The Motet Komm, Jesu, Komm by Herr, Bach, and Away in a Manger sung by NY Polyphony…..Then Conspirare with a dazzling marriage of two melodies Beauty Will Rise by Steven Curtis Chapman and Lo’ How a Rose with Craig Hella Johnston doing the solo and keyboard work.  …….Philip Brunelle’s VocalEssence Singers are light on their feet with The Shepherd and the King by Brian Holmes taken from their CD of Holiday Commissions.   You will recall an Alfred Burt Carol, two settings of the text Jesus Christ the Apple Tree, a fresh arrangement of Joy to the World by Michael Culloton plus a setting for womens voices of My Lord What a Morning by Dr. Paul Neshiem.  Performing groups include Cantus, Quire Cleveland, Male Ensemble North West, Coro Hispano de San Francisco, St. Jacobs Chamber Choir from Stockholm and the Essential Voices U.S.A hand us the Season of Light selections…….I know you are all busy doing concerts, but just file this and other broadcast for future listening….Keep up the good work directors and creators you are important.
