Conrad von Zabern’s De modo bene cantandi and Early Choral Pedagogy by Sion M. Honea
This is a study based on the first complete English translation of Conrad von Zabern’s De modo bene cantandi on choral and vocal pedagogy. Written in 1473, this treatise is not only still relevant for choral performance today, it also provides insight into historical performance. Von Zabern’s experience as a pedagogue also makes much of his treatise valuable for ensemble management and leadership.
