1. “Art Thou Troubled?”  G.F. Handel.  Unison.  Novello 16-0066

 This unison piece lies beautifully in children’s voices, and they love the language and the simplicity of the line. Add Baroque ornamentation on the DC.

 

2. “Let Me Know Beauty.” Allan E. Naplan. Two part treble. Boosey & Hawkes 48021161

The text, supported by haunting melody,  leads into meaningful discussions about music and about life.  Very accessible range and parts, with challenges in musical phrasing and breath.

 

3. “Something…..”  Sheldon Rose. Unison. AMP 0836

Great audience and singer pleaser for staging, communication, diction, articulation,  imagination, and playful interaction between the pianist and the choir.

 

4. “Oro Mo Bhaidin.”  Irish Folk Song, arr. Boshkoff. SA. Santa Barbara SBMP 820

Lush expressive children’s song.  Gaelic is challenging, but set beautifully in the voice.  (Language spoken at Sbmp.com)  Calls for a descant vocal or C instrument.

 

5. “Menina Me Da Sua Mao.” Brazilian Folk, arr. Green. Two part. Hal Leonard 08752989

Bossa Nova, in Spanish, but children learn it quickly.  Accessible vocal parts and supportive movement. Parts for Latin hand percussion.
