Scientific Study of Boys’ Voices

Science has long attempted to quantify art.  From the numerology associated with St, Mark’s Cathedral, to the mathematics at play in the works of Bach, to recent studies highlighted in an article called “This is your Brain on Music,” all forms of art have been subjected to objective examination in order to explain their properties.

 

Now, a cooperative study between the Cincinnati Boyschoir and the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital seeks “to create a helpful and healthy guide for working with our young male singers” from a medical perspective.

 

Scientific and medical research takes years (and perhaps decades) to complete.  However, choral conductors who work with young males are being asked to assist now with the study by filling out a brief survey.
