Over 300 published pages spread across several issues of the Choral Journal. Multiple hundreds of postings on ChoralNet, ACDA’s website, ACDA divisional & state sites, and the Association’s various sundry web properties. Incalculable numbers of calls, e-mails, and mailings; to say nothing of the unfathomable amount of individual commentary on various social media sites. Now it all comes down to this:
Approximately 10,000 conductors, singers, exhibitors, and other choral enthusiasts from all 50 U.S. states and throughout the world are converging on Dallas, Texas, for the 2013 ACDA National Conference. From the earliest planning meetings in 2009, through the beehive of activity currently taking place in Dallas, over 300 volunteers and student workers have given untold thousands of hours in preparation for what is certain to be a joyous celebration of choral music.
Over the next two weeks, ChoralNet commentators Joshua Bronfman, Paul Carey, Philip Copeland, Richard Sparks, and Jeff Tillinghhast will provide thoughtful and current commentary on the event; countless others will opine via Twitter, Facebook, and other means. In the weeks following the National Conference, ChoralBuzz columns will provide readers with substantive comments from many of the colleagues who led interest sessions. The ACDA YouTube site will also feature small fragments of some of the brilliant performances that highlighted the National Conference.
There is still time to join in the fun live and in person! Pack a bag, arrange some transportation, and head to Dallas.
