Have you ever cleaned out a closet only to find a belonging that you had completely forgotten about? It’s such a delightful surprise to re-discover a well-loved item that has simply slipped from the forefront of our mind.
Perhaps, then, it’s time to rediscover that the American Choral Directors Association has a YouTube channel. It is just one of the many valuable resources maintained by ACDA for the benefit of the choral community.
As would be expected, you can watch videos of great choral performances from ACDA’s National and Divisional conferences on the site (dating back to 1985). But there is so much more. You can enjoy interest sessions from conferences, hear samples of music discussed in CD reviews published in the Choral Journal, hear some of the compositions in the Brock series, and you can even watch Tim Sharp play his banjo!
There are currently 331 videos on the site with more being added all the time. Many of the videos are used as subjects for our daily educational features under the ChoralBuzz tab on ChoralNet.
Visit the ACDA YouTube site . . . who knows, you might even find an old friend.
