ACDA Online – Choral Loans Information

David Topping informed me about the current status of acdaonline.org – it is your first place to go to for your choral loans! Bizarre, isn’t it?

We made the move to acda.org over the summer of 2008. You can read about the short history of the acda.org sight right here.

If you have a website that lists the official ACDA website but you still connect to acdaonline.org, you might want to update your links!

I just discovered perhaps an even bigger example of this sort of thing, in that although the “National Association for Music Education” (USA) was long known as “MENC” and for many years used http://www.menc.org as their website (so there are still thousands of links out there to that domain), when I checked this morning, http://www.menc.org was not forwarding traffic to their new site (my browswer reported that it “can’t find the server at http://www.menc.org“), although they do still own their old domain. While good search engines are useful in bringing traffic to a website that has moved, they don’t yet automatically deal with outdated links to old domains–which is why it’s generally a good idea to hold onto your old domains, and just quietly forward traffic to the new one, sort of like a permanent postal “forwarding order.”
