While the world's athletes prepare for competition at the Olympics in London, over three hundred choirs are gathering to compete in the World Choir Games in Cincinnati, Ohio. The event launched on July 4 and will run through the 14th. This is the first time the World Choir Games have been held in the United States. (Download the complete WGC Schedule.)
Tim Sharp, ACDA's Executive Director has been in the Queen City since the opening note was sung. "Cincinnati and the state of Ohio have created a choral climate and culture that the United States truly has, and truly deserves to celebrate," he said. "It is thrilling for the American Choral Directors Association to be in the middle of this level and quality of choral performance and cultural presentation. We are here for eleven days, so there is still time for people to come and join in the choral celebration."
As a part of the Games, the American Choral Directors Association is sponsoring the ACDA International Choral Academy on Sunday July 8 and Monday, July 9. This FREE event brings clinicians from throughout the world together to share their experience and expertise with YOU.
