The American Choral Directors Association announces an opening for the new position Director of Membership Development. This added position will join the current ACDA Membership Coordinator position, specifically targeting membership growth and retention.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The ACDA Director of Membership Development is a full time position, working directly with the Executive Director on location in Oklahoma City, OK, for new member development and membership retention.
ASSOCIATION BACKGROUND
Founded in 1959, the American Choral Directors Association is a nonprofit music-education organization whose central purpose is to promote excellence in choral music through performance, composition, publication, research, and teaching. In addition, ACDA strives through arts advocacy to elevate choral music's position in American society.
RESPONSiBILITIES
The Director of Membership Development will be responsible for the following:
Grow ACDA's membership number;
Retain ACDA's current membership;
Research and analyze membership trends and expectations;
Work with ACDA's leadership and staff to maintain and develop benefits, projects, and activities to increase and retain membership;
Work with ACDA's leadership and staff to create meaningful levels of membership;
Collaborate with other associations and external constituencies for appropriate cross-association benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS, Professional:
In light of these responsibilities, the successful candidate will have:
Demonstrated skill in data research and analysis;
Demonstrated skill in service and recruitment;
Demonstrated skill in project development;
Demonstrated skill in media development and digital communication;
Appropriate education, training and experience for the position.
QUALIFICATIONS, Personal
The successful candidate will have:
An entrepreneurial spirit and approach to tasks;
Outgoing personality and strong communication skills;
Ability to self start and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
Reputation for being energetic, personable, trustworthy, transparent, and innovative.
