Notice anything new?

May 6, 2012 by Allen H Simon Leave a Comment

We’ve added a few new features to ChoralNet, including:
  • The Announcements, Forums, and Classifieds menus now include the ten most recent entries
  • The Communities menu not only lists your communities but also the most recent community forum entries
  • The MyChoralNet menu includes the most recent entries in your subscriptions
  • The Resources menu is now hierarchical so you can easily find relevant categories within Resources.
  • Forum replies have an optional Applaud button which you can use to indicate which replies you found the most helpful
  • Other menu changes and icons

If they don’t work properly (for example, if the menus on top look really funny), you may need to force-refresh the browser or empty your cache.

I think there’s been a status change on this issue–an enhancement to the Resources menu has just been activated, so Jed, please let Allen know what you think.

Nice work, once you empty the cache as you advised and detailed how.  Thank you.

We were thinking that there’d be no need to get to those category groups. Here are two possible workarounds:
    • Click on the Resources tab itself, rather than choosing a menu item. This will get you to the pop-open list we had before.
    • Choose one of the subcategories, then choose its supercategory from the “breadcrumb” listing just under the menu tabs. For example, if you click on the first Repertoire choice, Concert Themes, under the menu tabs it will say Home > Resources > Repertoire. Clicking on Repertoire will take you to that intermediate level.

    Allen,
A lovely upgrade that increases usability (not always the case when websites are “improved”!!)

It seems like the first level menus now aren’t functional (e.g. I can’t get directly to “Repertoire in the Resources menu, only to the subcategories). I have done a force-reload, just in case. May I suggest that those links remain active?

    Thanks, Allen!

Nice work, Webmaestro Allen! The availability of all the additional content in the menus makes it very convenient to browse through the most recent activity.
