Attending the Southwestern ACDA division conference last week, I learned of a need and an opportunity for young men that have sung in a national or divisional ACDA honor choir over the past two years, or were selected to sing at the 2011 ACDA National Conference.
Simon Carrington, one of the original King Singers, longtime user of ChoralNet, and renowned choral conductor, is conducting the first-ever ACDA National Youth Honor Choir – in Cambridge and London from Thursday June 14th thru Saturday June 23rd of this year. The schedule is full of opportunities of tremendous educational, cultural, and touring fun. The performances will be in and around London a few weeks prior to the opening ceremony of the London Olympic Games. Here is a detailed schedule.
It appears that the quota of female singers has been filled but that the organizers would love to see a few more men in the group. Directors are encouraged to share this information with their qualified male choristers. There is not much time left to sign up, so get the word out! Directors are welcome to directly contact KIconcerts, ACDA's partner in this exciting new endeavor.
