Thank you for sharing this – I needed a good laugh and you provided it quite nicely!

OMG!  Red (1956) hymnals!  I had a job at a church with GREEN (1933) hymnals.  I convinced them to get the BLUE (1990) but it took a while–and I went to Westminster (it wants to be Montreat but it’s in PA) to get ideas on how to do it. It’s  not the same, I know, but we’re northerners and that’s where they would pay for me to go. It was there I became steeped in Presbyterianism and all it’s quirks.

I really am Presbyertian and have worked (mostly) in Presby churches–this kid is like so many Seminarians I have worked with as a kid and in my jobs.  Everything’s better with candles! And tie dyed vestments.  And gender neutral pronouns.  And hyphenating is so passe–take the beginning of his last name and the end of hers and stick them together. Or vise versa if you prefer.

Marie, who has been singing CHANT with the Anglicans lately ’cause she doesn’t have a regular church job and lovin’ it. No fighting about Praise Songs!
