We are working daily on the "ACDA App" that I will reveal at ACDA's seven Division Conferences in February and March, 2012. I hope to see many of you there, but in the meantime, I would love to hear your thoughts on what the App should contain that will be of most use to you, and will make sense to the majority of conductor/users. Please "Reply" to this blog and give me your thoughts. More is better.
As I travel among student ACDA chapters around the country, I have been gathering ideas, and they are good ones. We have already incorporated a few of the ideas into the development, but there is still time to hear more thoughts, and still time for more development. Please think creatively, dream big, and even if it is beyond our scope at the moment, I would love to hear your idea in "Reply". On the other hand, also think about your daily and weekly routine and suggest practical ideas. You don't need to preface your thoughts with "you've probably already thought about this"…yes, we probably have, but I would like to hear from others on whether or not it is needed. Neither do you need to say "this is probably impossible, but…"….yes, it might be now, but let our ninjas think about it.
The following are features we have already loaded on the ACDA App, and yes, we are developing for ANDROID and IPHONE simultaneously:
Features:
- Streaming, non-stop choral music which will be a "First Hearing" from new choral releases on major labels;
- Choral Performance Videos from the archives of ACDA national and division conference performances;
- Links to ACDA.ORG and ChoralNet.org;
- Links to all Choral Journal and ChorTeach articles;
- Links to Choral Literature sources and Choral Reviews;
- Choral Conductor's Took Kit with metronome, chromatic tuner, pitch finder, warm-ups randomizer (Imagine Tyco's "Magic 8-Ball" for choral warm-ups).
What else would you like? Please hit "Reply" below….I'm listening, and I'm eager to hear your idea.

This is an exciting endeavor and I can’t wait to use it.
Thank you for putting in the time to create this for all of us.

How about some ringtones?
For example the famous “Hallelujah” opening phrase by Handel.
Or a choir singing the words, “Sing,” or “Answer your phone.”
