   The first time I excperienced a Sacred Harp Singing was in a small, wooden church on the plains of West Texas. My wife and I had seen a notice somewhere and decided to check it out. The sound in that room was ear-splitting, and I thought some of the singers, especially the leader, were going to have a stroke from the pressure they were putting on their throats! Unfortunately for us, we left after only a few songs; turns out we were experiencing authentic Americana roots! This video romanticizes the singing a bit because it really is LOUD, but it looks like this truly American institution is here to stay. Thanks for sharing, Scott. I’m eating humble pie today and wishing I had savored the moment!
