Dear American Choral Directors,
I wanted to personally wish each of our Arts Action Fund members a Happy National Arts and Humanities Month (NAHM). This coast-to-coast celebration of the arts is held every October and is coordinated by Americans for the Arts.
President Obama issued the following White House proclamation that recognizes the value of the arts and humanities and kicks off this month’s celebrations by stating: “We must recognize the contributions of the arts and humanities not only by supporting the artists of today, but also by giving opportunities to the creative thinkers of tomorrow. Educators across our country are opening young minds, fostering innovation, and developing imaginations through arts education.”
Here are three ways you can play your part:
HELP US SIGN-UP ONE MILLION FRIENDS
Recruit your friends to become FREE Arts Action Fund members. Help us reach our goal of one million arts advocates by the November 2012 elections. Visit our Arts Action Fund share page to tell your friends about us!
PARTICIPATE LOCALLY
Attend and support local arts organizations in your community. Use this NAHM event map to post information about your NAHM events and programs by clicking the “add event” link. You can also see what other activities are happening in your community!
FOLLOW THE ACTION
Follow the Action Fund on Twitter (@ArtsActionFund) during October and learn about Creative Conversations and featured events happening in your community and throughout the country.
