   My youngest son played the ‘cello all through grade school and high school.  You haven’t lived until you’ve tried to get an eight year old and a half sized (it might have been a three-quarter sized) ‘cello and backpack and whatever project with poster board to and from school three days a week. I was more concerned about the ‘cello and when he was finally ready for a full-sized (and it was EXPENSIVE), he kept it at home and only took it to school for concerts or special rehearsals, otherwise, he used the school’s ‘cellos for regular orchestra rehearsals. With my middle boy, he used the school’s percussion equipment and brought his snare for concerts if needed……drums and ‘cello…….it figures for a choral conductor’s kids.  Now, I would worry about my percussion guy’s stick bag (which he did bring to school almost every day)—pointy sticks, doncha know!

    

   It’s silly, but if they are rebuilding a music program the bus company may not be used to kids and instruments.  It’s great they are rebuliding the music program and my question is—why isn’t the music (band) teacher quoted here?  It is his/her program and you would think they would have something to say.  A tenor sax isn’t that big–would it make a difference if it was an alto sax?  Or if someone else had a big back pack?  Many school buses have places to stash stuff–why can’t the sax go there?

    

   A determined Mom can get things done–this Mom is determined–and I applaud her for getting coverage.  Brava! Hope it helps her kid.
