One of my Communities, Friends of Joyful Noise, has some exciting news–at least, we think it’s exciting. I’d like to get it out to the ChoralNet mainstream. My hope would be, not only would the ChoralNet general population know about it–and it’s pretty darn cool, too–but again, those who do not know about ChoralNet Communities would have their interest piqued. I am not sure where I should post it…does anyone have any ideas? We at FOJN are very grateful to Allen Simon to have featured our Community in the ChoralBlog–and today’s featured ChoralNet Community is the South Dakota ACDA–and hope those featured Communities keep on coming!Oh–and our news:To catch you up–our ChoralNet Community is centered around choruses that serve special needs populations. Joyful Noise is just such a chorus based in New Jersey. After hearing (and SEEING) Joyful Noise, many at the March National ACDA conference wanted to start their own chorus, in there own home community and Friends of Joyful Noise is the place to get info, support, repertoire, etc. So–ta-da–our first chorus spurred by the ACDA experience is to have their first performance this weekend. “Expressions of Joy” is based in New Mexico. Our second chorus, “Encore! Joyful Noise” will begin rehearsals this week. They are based in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Both success stories, helped along by ChoralNet Communities! And there is another chorus still in the planning stages. Now, if I could just get my other ChoralNet Community (Chamber Choirs/Vocal Ensembles–my real work) as busy!
Who’s to say what’s your “real work”?
