This is from a singer’s blog, describing her impressions from the audition of a potential Artistic Director (the applicant rehearsed and conducted a concert).
Of course, everyone has different criteria. This is just one opinion, but this singer had a very positive impression because:
- She radiates electric energy … on stage and rehearsal.
- She outpours musical passion with every text translation and rhythm clarification that she delivers.
- I love how she shows us exactly how she is feeling—if the music is good enough to be moved to tears, she will have tears in her eyes.
- She made the effort to learn everybody’s first name by the time we arrived at the first rehearsal.
- She understands the importance of rehearsal snack and would bring cookies and fruit to practise 🙂
- She took it upon herself [to] commit to the text and translations and would provide them to us if they were not previously provided.
- She introduced me to excellent music from [local] composers.
FWIW.
