Kyrie for Norway

July 31, 2011 by philip copeland Leave a Comment

Kyrie for Norway – a musical expression dedicated in loving memory of all the people who passed away on July 22 in Oslo and Utoya.  As the video below will tell you, the following piece of music was written and a choir was formed to perform and produce the work in 48 hours.

Words from the initiators of the project:
"When something terrible happens, most people do not really know how to respond: where to find positive energy if everything around you is drenched in grief? That's what you need friends for, to love and comfort you and find new warmth and inspiration."

It is a beautiful expression of pain, remorse, and hope by composer Tom Dicke.

If you are interested in purchasing the music, follow these instructions:

Copies of the score can be purchased directly through the composer, by sending an e-mail to He’ll send one copy of the score in a ring binder and one copy in separate sheets. Cost: 20 Euros.
