Two Tweets

July 16, 2011 by philip copeland Leave a Comment

Two types of tweets are burning up my “choral” twitter feed this morning and both feature videos.

One is the Capital Children’s Choir singing Lady Gaga’s “Judas” and the other is news of the UPLB victory in a Chinese choral competition.  Congrats to both these choirs and their directors.  Videos of both below.

The Chinese choir sounds awesome! Good on them!
…the girls choir…I have one word: SMILE! They look TERRIBLY bored. As a high school choir teacher for 7 years I know this is a concept that is difficult to to teach to young singers, but it was always one of the first things I taught to my students: if you don’t entertain your audiences, then what’s the point?

In this video, they sound awesome, good for them… but man it’s boring to watch with those dead facial expressions. 🙂
