Article submissions are now being accepted for a “Special Focus Issue” devoted to technology for ACDA’s “Choral Journal” for publication in or around May 2012. I’ve been asked to put together an issue devoted to technology for the choral musician and I am reaching out to the broader choral community for help.
For this issue, I am looking for articles that relate, in some way, to the practice of choral music and technology. The issue will most likely have 3-4 major articles and numerous shorter articles devoted to specific technologies.
The shorter articles will be around 1000-1500 words and should be devoted to a specific technology and how that technology can be integrated with choral music. Possible article topics:
- “The Choral Musician’s iPad”
- “Using Facebook to Connect with Today’s Student”
- “Top Ten Android Apps for the Choral Rehearsal”
The longer articles should deal substantively with issues related to technology and choral music. Article length should be between 3000-5000 words.
My current idea is to replace traditional columns with technology related reports – something I’ve tried to show in the accompanying picture.
If you are interested in this project, please contact me immediately with your idea. Final drafts aren’t needed anytime soon, but I am interested in what you might contribute. If possible, send me an outline of your idea and we will work together to bring it to fruition.
