On this ChoralBlog on March 29th, Tim Sharp, Executive Director of the American Choral Directors Association wrote:
The ongoing internationalization of ACDA’s program offerings has been enhanced by collaboration …. Collaboration is the key to making relationships align toward the accomplishment of a shared vision.
As part of that ongoing internationalization, I am pleased to announce the official launch of the International Conductors Exchange Program (ICEP), which creates opportunities for US conductors to collaborate (Tim’s key word above) with choral musicians from abroad. The past nine months have been spent in laying the foundation of this exciting program. At the national conference in Chicago, the Executive Committee gave approval for our first collaboration with Carmina Slovenica and exchanges with Slovenia and surrounding countries.
Within the next two months choral conductors will be able to apply to this program, the first exchanges of which are planned for 2012. For more details read this announcement, authored by David Puderbaugh of the ICEP steering committee. If interested, join the ICEP community on ChoralNet because applications for admission to the program and other forthcoming information will be posted there.
