Podium 2010 and Stephen Chatman’s “Remember”

May 23, 2010 by philip copeland Leave a Comment

I am in Saskatoon, Canada and attending Podium 2010.

Podium is Canada’s equivalent to the national ACDA conference but a far more intimate event.  Everyone knows each other here – we all fit into a banquet hall last night and shared a meal and awards ceremony together.  Perhaps I will get a list of the awards and award winners and share with you later.

There was a three-choir concert yesterday afternoon by these choirs:
  • University of Saskatchewan Greystone Singers (Gerald Langner)
  • University of Manitoba Singers (Elroy Friesen)
  • University of Alberta Madrigal Singers (Leonard Ratzlaff)

It was a great concert, and I heard a new piece – Stephen Chatman’s “Remember” . . . a beautiful work that I found on YouTube this morning . . . . enjoy:

    Hi Philip,

Enjoy the music and your stay there. Try to catch Brett Scott’s presentation of US composer’s music. He has a few things by yours truly in the session. I’d love to hear any feedback you have and/or other people’s comments from that session..
