About not seeing names with posts…if you click on a post, you don’t see the name of the poster. The only option for contact is to “Leave a Comment,” and, to be honest, I have no idea whether the original poster sees those comments once they’re left. I left a comment on a post last week (when I couldn’t find a name for a direct message) and never heard back from the poster.

As I clicked back and forth just now, trying to shed more light on the subject, I discovered that if you go back to the category (Announcements, Classified, etc.) and click on the category tab on the home page, you get a list of all messages approved to that category *with* the name of the original poster.

With the old site, we used to get a ton of responses to the list that were really meant to be private, direct comments. We even had a form letter we could send about it. I haven’t noticed that on the new site much, but if you do want to contact a poster directly with a private comment, it’s not intuitive to figure out how to do so.

Also, in the old day, when someone posted to the Moderator Forum, we’d all get an email to notify us that there was activity we might want to be aware of. I usually don’t think to check this part of the page when I’m moderating. Is there a way to link it to a listserv to receive auto-notifications when new posts are made?
