This November, Tactus SF will present a concert of Renaissance music written by people on the fringes of society. Featuring the music of ethnic and religious minorities (Lusitano, Rossi, Byrd), some of the first women to have their music published (Assandra, Aleotti, Casulana), immigrants and indigenous peoples in the New World (Zumaya, Franco, Lienas, don Franco), and convicted criminals (Phinot, Gombert, Gesualdo), we celebrate the voices of the marginalized and oppressed.
The concert will last about an hour with no intermission. Proof of vaccination and masks required for entry. Outdoor reception to follow.
This concert was made possible by the fiscal sponsorship of the San Francisco Early Music Society, of which Tactus SF is an affiliate.
