Celebrate the joy of the holiday season with Judith Clurman conducting ESSENTIAL VOICES USA in a sparkling evening of beloved carols and festive classics, on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 7:30 PM, at St. Malachy’s – The Actors’ Chapel (239 West 49th Street, NYC). The chorus will be joined by The Essential Strings and will feature a truly magical evening of music, laughter, holiday poetry readings, and community spirit. This event is part of EVUSA’s Community Project, a program that brings concerts and sing-alongs free of charge to the NYC community. While admission is free, a $20.00 suggested contribution is warmly welcomed to help support this endeavor.
EVUSA will be featured in Christmas Joy, a collection of holiday favorites arranged by Joshua Clayton and Judith Clurman, for chorus and string quartet. In addition, they will present the World Premiere of a new arrangement of The Wexford Carol, for percussion, cello, and keyboard. They will sing Listen to the World (music by Judith Clurman, lyrics by William Schermerhorn), a work that encourages greater understanding and inspires hope for a better world. The audience will also be invited to participate in several traditional carol arrangements, accompanied by string quartet arrangements by Jeremy Robin Lyons, as well as holiday classics by Jerry Herman and Irving Berlin. As part of this interactive celebration, audience members will be taught the refrain and join EVUSA in the World Premiere of The Star (music by Robert Sirota, lyrics by Victoria Sirota).
Says conductor Judith Clurman, “It is my hope that this community event will bring families a sense of joy, hope, and fulfillment this holiday season.”
