The perfect holiday gift for singers – come sing in Cambridge at Epiphany! Join us for a cosy, candle-lit Epiphany Singing Retreat, staying in gorgeous Sidney Sussex College. We’ll bring light to the dark days of winter with warm camaraderie, singing Evensong and Compline services in glorious college chapels, with a feast of kingly repertoire, wassailing and a sumptuous Twelfth Night Dinner.
We are delighted to be working with a superb team of music directors including Peter Phillips (Director: The Tallis Scholars), Benjamin Sheen (Jesus College), Steven Grahl (Trinity College) and Dr Edward Wickham (St Catharine’s College and CCA Artistic Director).
The choral repertoire for Epiphany is almost as rich as for Christmas, and produced some of the most ground-breaking music of all time. Sidney Sussex College is steeped in musical history, where early English composers including Robert Fayrfax (MusB, 1501; DMus 1504) and Christopher Tye (MusB, 1536) took their degrees.
Our courses are designed to immerse you in the rich choral life of Cambridge, specialising in music for chamber forces in the chapel tradition. You will develop your voice and choral skills with daily voice training and vocal health sessions, and enjoy complementary cultural and educational talks, as well as meeting like-minded new friends.
