Description: Westminster Presbyterian, with an established traditional church music program is looking for 1 Bass/Baritone paid singer to join our chancel choir and support the volunteer voices in an extensive music department in the midst of a large church.

The successful candidate will bring essential skills to this position: a heart for volunteers, excellent vocal music skills, attention to detail, and a strong interest in sacred music.
Reports to Minister of Music and Fine Arts (MMFA) and/or Head of Staff
Key Relationships: Work directly with the volunteer musicians of all ages and abilities, MMFA, and part-time music staff.
Minimum Experience: Talent and experience as determined by the Minster of Music and Fine Arts.
Responsibilities
- Attend and actively participate in all Westminster choir rehearsals and worship services
- Sing in the Westminster Chorale select Fine Arts events
- Display a professional attitude, mastery of choral part and model solid vocal technique.
- Keep all notes and musical markings given by the conductor to serve a resource for the choir
- Other duties as assigned by the MMFA
Typical Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Thursday evening Rehearsals (7-8:30 pm September to May)
- Sunday worship (typically 3 Sundays a month)
- Music rehearsal preparation and score study
- Communication with musicians, staff and congregation
Additional annual responsibilities
- Periodic non-Sunday worship services and Fine Arts events
Contract information : All contracts are one year and may be renewed for additional years at the discretion of the Minster of Music and Worship, Music, and Arts Unit, or Senior Pastor. The basic contract terms will be $80 a week plus bonuses for high holy seasons such as Christmas and Holy Week. Singers are expected to be in attendance for Christmas Eve and Easter. The contract will be from hire date to mid-May in 2016. Exact dates and details are available upon request and will be discussed at the interview/audition.
