Wanted: Bass singer for a cappella group

None of the Above  (NOTA)  is an established a cappella octet in the greater Boston area looking for a new Bass singer.  We sing a little bit of everything from early music to modern academic pieces, pop, jazz, show tunes, folk songs and spirituals.     Rehearsals are typically Monday evenings in Wellesley (commuter rail accessible) and gig are roughly once a month.    Please check out our website to learn more about us www.noneabove.org

If you love singing a variety of music styles in a challenging, creative yet friendly and fun loving environment, NOTA is the a cappella group for you!

Auditions will consist of the candidate learning sections of 3 pieces in the current NOTA repertoire.  We will rehearse each song a couple of times and then record each piece.    We are looking for:

– Solid Bass range (Eb or lower)

– Strong sight reading ability OR the willingness to work outside of rehearsal to learn notes (we have tools to learn notes)

– Solo abilty is encouraged but not the focus of our group

– Prior Choral or a cappella experience is a must

– Comfortable stage presence and willing to do simple choreography

– Arranging ability is a plus but not required

– This is not a paid position (all monies are used for the group)
