Come sing with Voci!
Voci Women’s Vocal Ensemble – the Bay Area’s premier women’s vocal ensemble – announces openings for experienced women singers for its 2018-19 season.
Auditions will be held through August 15, or until all positions are filled. Rehearsals start September 5.
Voci is an intimate, high-level treble ensemble of 24-30 singers that performs adventurous music from a wide range of historical periods. Directed by Mitchell Covington and now in its 27th year, Voci promotes music written for, and by women.
2018-19 SEASON
Our 2018-19 season features a wide range of favorites and lesser known, but beautiful works:
On November 10, Voci will team up with the Kensington Symphony Orchestra to present Claude Debussy’s Nocturnes. Voci will be featured in the 4th movement, “Sirens.”
December 2 and 8, Voci will present “Season of Peace,” featuring Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols and other works for women’s chorus and harp – in collaboration with harpist Meredith Clark. The concerts will also include beautiful medieval and renaissance gems and inspiring settings of Hebrew texts by Joseph Spivak and Sherry Kosinski.
In May 2019, Voci will present “Northern Lights” featuring stunning 20th and 21st century works by Baltic and Norwegian composers, including Karin Rehnqvist, Galina Grigorjeva, Arvo Pärt, Ola Gjeilo and Ēriks Ešenvalds.
