UNUM Vocal Company Seeks Soprano 1 and Bass/Baritone

UNUM Vocal Company, Chicago’s new small vocal ensemble, is seeking a Soprano 1 and Bass/Baritone!

UNUM is a Chicago-based professional chamber vocal ensemble dedicated to bringing the highest quality vocal music to the 21st century audience.

Candidates should have a passion for a cappella music and a desire to collaborate within a small group setting. Candidates with a passion for music education are also highly encouraged to audition. All singers to be considered will demonstrate supreme vocal flexibility within different styles of a cappella music, spanning from early music to jazz.

(The singers of UNUM are awarded a stipend for performance/rehearsals upon completion of each performance.)

Initial auditions will be held the week of December l-8 (scheduled per availability). Singers may be called back for a secondary audition the following week.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
Prepare 2 contrasting selections to be sung without accompaniment:
One traditional classical art song/aria/oratorio
One contemporary jazz/pop/folk

Be prepared to a complete a rhythmic and tonal sight reading passage as well as sight read a passage with established members of the group.
