I have recently published a new composition entitled, “There is Music in the Garden.” It is based on a telling quote by M. Aumonier. In today’s society, individuals tend to not fully appreciate the beauty in themselves and others. The world is full of loud voices that often send out mixed signals to our young people. This piece can help to start a conversation regarding true beauty, listening, and how music can assist in communicating this idea .

Minnie Aumonier (1865-1952) was an English poet and artist. She wrote and illustrated three little books of garden poetry, painted watercolours, and created original cards.
“There is always music among the trees in the garden but we must be very quiet to hear it”, was written for one of her greeting cards.

“A Privilege to Experience- It is challenging to believe the music and lyrics were not both from the same place or time. there is a sincerity the arrangement shares with the text articulated with true integrity. I would group this piece with only something as moving as Aaron Coplands “The Promise of Living” – this… text serves the music- just as the music serves the text. The Togetherness of Purpose
