The Choir of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church
Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church is currently accepting applications for a vacancy in the soprano section.
The music program at FAPC employs eighteen outstanding professional singers who sing a wide variety of repertoire for worship services and concerts. We are seeking an exceptional ensemble singer who is a good sight reader, has superb pitch, and demonstrates the flexibility to perform in a variety of styles, both within the ensemble and as a soloist. The ability to sing comfortably without vibrato is essential.
The choir rehearses Sunday mornings before the 11 AM service; sings additional special services throughout the season (Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, etc.); and performs four concerts each year as part of FAPC’s concert series, Music@5th & 55th. The choral season runs from September through early June. Professional choristers take turns serving as soloists during the summer months.
Weekly compensation for these positions is $140 per Sunday, plus additional fees for concert rehearsals, concert performances and special services. The successful candidate will begin singing with the choir in September 2016.
