TENOR soloist/section leader-Church of the Atonement

Church of the Atonement in Tenafly, NJ is seeking a tenor soloist to assume a leadership role in the tenor section of an otherwise volunteer but active choir of approximately 12 members with 4 paid soloists. The successful candidate will be required to participate one day a week at the Sunday 10 a.m. service and 9 a.m. rehearsal from September until mid-June, as well as extra services on Christmas Eve, Advent Candlelight and Carols, and Easter Saturday Vigil. He will also have the opportunity to sing solos and in ensembles during services and occasional choral concerts throughout the year.

The candidate should have previous professional experience in church music both as soloist and choir member. Church of the Atonement is a small but vibrant and active Episcopal congregation of about 250 members in suburban New Jersey with a highly developed and serious music program. Music encompasses all periods and styles, from plainchant through contemporary, from anthems to oratorios.
