Department Summary
Oregon Bach Festival (OBF) is an acclaimed music performance series presented by the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance, with representation from the community through an Advisory Board. The Grammy Award-winning Festival is recognized nationally and internationally as a premier performing arts organization which annually presents and produces approximately 50 performances of major choral-orchestral works, instrumental and chamber concerts, solo recitals, lectures, a children’s series, master classes for professional musicians, an 11-day intensive study and choral performance program (a.k.a. Stangeland Family Youth Choral Academy) for high school-aged singers. The administrative offices of the Festival operate year-round for the purpose of planning, budgeting, and producing each year’s program, which includes the hiring and management of approximately 350 artists. Other major administrative areas include securing funds through private and business donations and public and private sector grants, the business management of the organization (annual budget of approx. $2.7 million) and publicizing, marketing and promoting the Festival.

Position Summary
The Patron and Community Engagement Coordinator (PCEC) is responsible for coordinating a selection of patron services, earned revenue, and community engagement activities for Oregon Bach Festival, Chamber Music at Beall (CMB), and the Musicking Conference (MC), collectively known as the “OBF Portfolio,” as well as for School of Music and Dance (SOMD) activities as assigned by the Director of Programming and Production (DPP). The PCEC reports to the DPP and directly supervises student workers and volunteers in support of the patron services function. The PCED further supports the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications in implementing patron services and earned revenue activities and the Senior Associate Director of Development in the review and approval of corporate sponsorships. This position serves as a member of the OBF staff and acts as liaison between OBF and the SOMD Marketing and Development offices, attending meetings in those two areas as requested.

This position occasionally works outside of regular business hours including some nights and weekends. OBF has multiple sponsors that are outside the city limits and therefore this work requires the ability to travel to sites not regularly served by public transportation.
