seeking choral venue or collaborative concert

May 15, 2017 by Richard Teaster 1 Comment

I’m looking for a concert venue(s) for the University of Pittsburgh Men’s Glee Club in May 2018. We are open to sharing a concert with a local choir or singing on a concert series, church service, etc. We’re a group of about 50 men and our repertoire is eclectic a cappella, ranging from Renaissance to popular music. The projected dates in Chicago area would be Friday, May 4th thru Monday, May 7th. Thank you!

    Hi Richard~
My name is Pat Smith & my husband works at Community Congregational Church in Villa Park, in the western suburbs of Chicago. I saw your notice & got in touch with our pastor who thinks we’d be happy to have your choir at the church service on Sunday morning, 5/6 &/or host a concert one of the evenings you are in the area. The room is pretty good for a cappella singing (our own a cappella choir rehearses in the room).
Our question is how do you handle fees? Would you be looking for a fee from the church to sing on Sunday morning? If so, how much? Or, would you provide some sort of stipend to the church to use the building as a concert venue? Anyway, I would like to talk more about this, if you are still seeking performance opportunities. You can reach me via email @ or call 708-601-8949. Thanks!
