COME SING WITH US!
Message from the Artistic Director, Dr. Jennifer Seighman
This year promises an exciting and eclectic assortment of choral music, which I know you will enjoy. My hope is to enable you to make music at the highest possible level to make a difference in your life and in the lives of all who hear our music. What an incredible opportunity we are given each week to come together and re-engage in beauty, inspiration, and life. I am so grateful for what each one of our members brings to our choir.
The chorus consists of professional and amateur singers from all walks of life, from San Antonio and the surrounding areas. Activities include large venue concerts, smaller chamber performances at local retirement communities, holiday caroling, civic events, conventions and regional business functions.
Our Signature Performances
Recently, the ensemble has performed such choral masterworks as Mozart’s Requiem, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, Duruflé’s Requiem, Brahms’ Liebeslieder Walzer, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Britten’s St. Nicolas, John Rutter’s Mass of the Children, Robert Rays’ Gospel Mass, Brukner’s Tota pulchra es Maria and premiered new commissions by Jerome Malek, Leslie Hogan, and James Syler. Pops concerts have included music from the Beatles, Hollywood movie classics, Gilbert and Sullivan, and the Broadway stage. We have collaborated with local and nationally-recognized musical artists to provide unique and high quality performances in the San Antonio community, and have been featured at numerous events such as Luminaria, the return of the Travis Letter to the Alamo, the Oblate School of Theology Commencement, Spurs basketball games, the New Year’s Eve Celebration at Sea World, and the Texas Choral Directors Association annual convention. In July of 2014, members of the choir participated in a 10-day European tour, singing in many prominent venues in Germany and Austria.
