Taylor Festival Choir: Call for Auditions

The Taylor Festival Choir (TFC) is holding an open call for professional caliber singers interested in joining the ensemble’s roster.

Founded in 2001, the TFC is an elite professional chamber choir based in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. This is a project-based ensemble. The choir gathers four to six times a year for rehearsals and performances. They perform a wide array of repertoire consisting of primarily a capella music of the highest quality. The ensemble has performed on numerous conferences including state, regional, and national ACDA. The ensemble has also toured internationally to Ireland. TFC completes regular recording projects and currently records with Delos Productions.

For each concert, 24 singers are selected from a larger roster based on need for each project. Singers receive per-call compensation. Singers based outside of Charleston are also provided with airfare and lodging.

A typical contract schedule is as follows:
Friday—Rehearsal 2:30-5:30, Rehearsal 7-10
Saturday—Rehearsal 10-1, Rehearsal and/or out of town concert 3-6
Sunday—Concert at 3

Interested singers should submit the following materials:

•  Current musicalresume (PDF format)
•  Current headshot
•  Digital recordings of 2 contrasting solo pieces (Mp3 format)
•  Recording of neutral syllable vocalises (54321, 123454321, etc.) demonstrating the singer’s highest and lowest usable note. Please demonstrate both piano and forte singing in both extreme registers. (Mp3 format)
