Dynamic, multi-generational Episcopal parish in Glenview, Illinois seeks a well trained soprano to be a section leader for their semi-professional parish choir. The choir sings every Sunday from September through early June, as well has special holiday services. Our repertoire is rooted in the traditional Anglican style.
Requirements:
-Strong sight reading skills
-Strong choral singer (primary)
-Ability to sing solo music (secondary)
-Experience with Anglican Chant (or a willingness to learn)
-Experience working in a ministry setting with other professional musicians and clergy
-Must exhibit strong interpersonal skills, and be responsible, punctual, and reliable
-A degree in voice is preferable, but not required
Responsibilities:
-Regular participation in Sunday morning worship. Call time 8:45 AM for a 9:30 service
-Regular participation in Wednesday evening rehearsals. Call time 7:30 – 9:00 PM
-Availability for special holiday services such as: Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Christmas Eve
-Availability during the summer months to provide solos or sing in a small ensemble
-Ability to conduct a sectional rehearsal if needed
The position is roughly a three hour commitment weekly, September through June. Compensation is $50 per call.
