Northwest Choral Society holding auditions

The Northwest Choral Society is holding auditions for the upcoming 2016-17 season.

Auditions will be held Tuesday, September 6 and Tuesday, September 13 at 6:30 pm at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at 855 Lee Street, Des Plaines, IL.

Rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings from 7:30-9:30 at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Winter Concert
Come Celebrate!
We begin our musical season with one of Bach’s most beloved Advent cantatas, BWV 62, “Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland” coupled with Joseph M. Martin’s “A Festival of Carols.” The “Festival” will present familiar songs of the season in new and interesting arrangements.
Concert will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2016, 4:00 pm
St. Raymond de Penafort Church. Corner of Elmhurst Ave. and Lincoln St., Mt. Prospect, IL

Spring Concert
Hymns of Praise
Our second concert of the season includes two masterworks for chorus by Schubert and Mendelssohn. Schubert’s “Mass in G,” a prime example of classical writing is juxtaposed with Mendelssohn’s exuberant “Hymn of Praise.” Both works will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra.
Concert will be held on Sunday, April 4, 2017, 4:00 pm, Trinity Lutheran Church, Des Plaines, IL.

Summer Concert
Celebrate the ’70’s
We will be “Stayin’ Alive” with music of the BeeGees, ABBA, and disco guaranteed to bring the Fever to your Saturday night. Bring your dancing shoes as we celebrate the era of disco, dancing, and “Saturday Night Fever.”
Concert will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017, 7:30 pm, All Saints Lutheran Church, Palatine.
