Following a little time off for the summer, the New Hope – Solebury & Lambertville Community Choir resumes rehearsals on September 6, 2016, pointed toward performances in December and June. The choir is looking to expand the membership, and invites singers and would-be singers of all shapes, sizes, voice parts and varieties to join the group.
NHS&LCC is made up of members of the immediate New Hope-Solebury and Lambertville community as well as several singing residents of the surrounding area. There is no audition to join – all are welcome. Beginning its fifth season, NHS&LCC performances have included appearances at the New Hope Christmas tree lighting ceremonies, Chanukah on the Delaware, the First Federal Bank, the New Hope-Solebury Free Library, the Logan Inn, several area retirement communities and senior centers, as well as regular concerts.
The New Hope – Solebury & Lambertville Community Choir is under the direction of Episcopal minister of music, instructor, and New Hope resident Rick Rosen. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings at Carversville Christian Church, 3736 Aquetong Rd. in Carversville. “We truly are a community choir, made up of a wide variety of people and personalities, with a wide variety of musical skill sets,” notes Rosen. “So, the idea is to sing an equally wide variety of music, to match the music to our abilities while still challenging ourselves, and to then end up with quality music and a truly fun, enjoyable and rewarding experience for everyone.”
