Laguna Beach Chamber Singers

Laguna Beach Chamber Singers are accepting new members during January as we begin our 2018 spring season. Come join us, and have the joy of making soul-satisfying music become part of your weekly life.

All singers are welcome, especially 2nd sopranos, tenors, and basses with low notes. Since 2016, our membership has more than doubled, and we’re nearing our ideal size.

Because we would like new members to feel comfortable in our group, auditions are not scheduled until after a new member has attended at least 2 rehearsals.

Rehearsals are held regularly on Tuesday evenings, beginning January 9, in the Music Room at Thurston Middle School, 2100 Park Avenue, in Laguna Beach on Tuesday evenings from 7:15-9:15 PM for our Spring Concert on Sunday evening, April 29.

For our 2018 Spring Concert, we will be performing sacred music of Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Britten, Vaughan Williams, Copland, and Bernstein, as well as Jewish music and spirituals.

We regard ourselves as a highly disciplined group with a positive rehearsal atmosphere, combined with a good amount of humor. The journey (rehearsing) is as important to us as the destination (performing). We are emphatically not “suffering musicians.”

We are a dues-free community chamber choir, though members donate an average $250 tax-deductible donation – some more, some less – to cover expenses.
