Hailed as one of New York’s premiere ensembles, EVUSA will perform in performances this fall, with the New York Pops, on the Carnegie Hall Subscription series. Throughout the concert year, the group will sing in various performances in NYC and Washington D.C.
Essential Voices USA (EVUSA) performs in many of the city’s iconic venues and events and records and premieres works by American finest composers and lyricists. Regularly on stage with the New York Pops in its Carnegie Hall subscription series, televised on NBC’s July 4th Macy’s 2014 Spectacular Fireworks and the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting in 2011 and 2012, the ensemble comprises a talented roster of seasoned professionals and auditioned volunteers, dynamically fitted to the unique needs of each project. Among other national highlights, EVUSA participated in the 2013 Presidential Inaugural activities; and held a month-long residency at National Public Radio. The impressive cohort of musicians that have worked with EVUSA run the gamut from the young opera sensation Jamie Barton to Broadway star Idina Menzel to musical theater luminaries Sheldon Harnick; Larry Hochman; Stephen Schwartz; Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg; and Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty to composers Milton Babbitt and Howard Shore. EVUSA currently produces The Composer Speaks at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music. EVUSA Youth Workshop provides select high school students the opportunity to participate with the main ensemble in the heart of New York City’s music scene. The ensemble’s CDs are: Celebrating the American Spirit, Cherished Moments: Songs of the Jewish Spirit, Holiday Harmonies: Songs of Christmas, and Season of Light: Songs of Thanksgiving, Christmas, Chanukah, New Year.
