Full Season performed in both Manhattan and New Jersey
Requisites: Solid sight reading; excellent intonation
Programming: New music of eclectic stylistic mix, surrounding a socially pertinent theme.
Solo technique is supported in the approach to ensemble tone, and soloists are selected exclusively from within the ensemble. Voices of all sizes are welcome to apply. Must have solid reading skills and excellent intonation.

Led by Dr. Deborah Simpkin King, Ember is the performing core of Schola Cantorum on Hudson (Schola), which is also the parent organization of PROJECT : ENCORE (P:E). Consistent with the substantial P:E commitment to promoting new music, Ember’s repertoire is largely that of active composers. The ensemble selects a theme of social pertinence around which to program all of its concerts throughout a season. The upcoming season’s theme:

Celebrating, honoring, acknowledging the ageing process in our citizenry that is heavily weighted to individuals over the “retirement age” of 65.
