Choral Chameleon is seeking professional choral singers for its Spring 2017 season. Now in its 9th year, Choral Chameleon produces eclectic and boundary-breaking choral events both as part of its regular concert series and in collaboration with major artistic partners. Comprised of a 12-voice professional ensemble as well as an avocational volunteer chorus, Choral Chameleon is equally at home with traditional repertoire as well as new work; the choir has premiered over 150 new choral works in its 9 year history. Under the award-winning guidance of artistic director and founder Vince Peterson, the ensemble has had recent collaborations with Taylor Mac, New York Theater Workshop, Playwrights Horizons, Empire City Men’s Chorus, The Weather Channel, and Oreo. The professional ensemble seeks exceptional choral singers with incredible control, range, and expressive capacity. Impeccable sight singing is a must, as is an adventurous spirit and positive attitude. All services are paid at various rates depending on the engagement, but the most successful singers in the organization have been those who commit to the spirit and mission of the group instead of simply showing up for a paycheck.
Auditions will involve a mock rehearsal of prepared choral excerpts as well as sight-singing.
At this time we are specifically seeking SOPRANOS and TENORS. Although there are not currently any open positions in their sections, altos and basses will be seen for future substitutes and replacements.
For consideration, please email with your resume, headshot, and some links to performance clips (especially those featuring a small vocal ensemble) by Dec. 2nd.
