We are excited to announce that Choral Chameleon, winners of the 2015 Chorus America/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming are combining both professional ensemble and chorus under the same company banner from 2016-2017 Season.
We are auditioning avocational singers of all voice parts for the 2016-2017 season to join our 30-40 voice group.
We make “people music,” diversely programming music of multiple genres, new and old in a colorful, meaningful, and unique way that our audience can come, listen and connect to on a human level.
Led by Artistic Director Vince Peterson, our energized and enjoyable Monday night rehearsals embrace development in vocal technique, music literacy and concert repertoire in a practical and accessible manner.
This season, we will be singing in 3 concerts: November (18,19), March (10,11) and June (9,10). Performance venue locations and types vary according to the concert concept. Expect to perform in both Manhattan and Brooklyn during the season.
Our singers also frequently accept invitations to perform in 3rd party theatrical or interdisciplinary productions in New York, often with minimal rehearsal time. We’re looking for singers who are open to doing just about anything!
Our season kick-off rehearsal will be on Saturday, September 10 in Carroll Gardens, followed by the first Monday night rehearsal in Tribeca on September 12. Auditions will be held on August 28 and 29 and are by appointment only. We will do a brief interview, test your vocal range, check your sight singing, and hear a prepared choral excerpt (we will provide in advance) and a prepared solo of your choosing. An accompanist will be provided — please bring your sheet music in the correct key. For more information and to schedule an audition, visit our website.
