The Episcopal Church of the Atonement (www.churchoftheatonement.org) seeks to audition singers for all voice parts (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) into its choral program – including the 12-voice professional Schola, sublist, and volunteer St. Cecilia Choir for the 2017-2018 season.
The season begins October 1 and ends on Corpus Christi (early June).
Christmas Eve midnight mass and Holy Week/Easter are required for full paid positions. Volunteer positions have more flexibility. Excellent skill in sight reading and the desire to sing in a chamber ensemble are of utmost importance. Extensive choral experience is necessary.
Professional singers rehearse Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. for the 11:00 a.m. solemn mass. There are no weeknight rehearsals. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled throughout the year, but prior notice will be given. Additional calls for weddings, funerals, and evensong services are available throughout the year. All professional singers are paid $77.50 per call.
Volunteer singers must have Wednesday evenings free. Occasional calls for Sundays and feasts may present themselves, but will be scheduled with appropriate notification.
