Chor Leoni Announces Audition Call for New Professional Chamber Vocal Ensemble

(Vancouver, BC) Chor Leoni announces auditions for The Leonids, a new professional TTBB chamber ensemble, under the direction of Artistic Director Erick Lichte. The Leonids will serve as the professional headline choir for Chor Leoni’s annual VanMan Male Choral Summit and as an educational, inspirational, and aspirational force for this festival and beyond.

Like the spectacular meteor showers after which they are named, The Leonids come together briefly once a year to rehearse, record, perform and enrich the experience of the VanMan festival participants. Based in Vancouver for a week, The Leonids will work with Chor Leoni, the VanMan Festival Singers, Chor Leoni’s Emerging Choral Artist Program, and the participants of Chor Leoni’s MYVoice youth program. The Leonids’ musical example, collaborative spirit, instruction, and encouraging goodwill seeks to inspire and educate these festival participants. Their wide-ranging, inclusive programming and choral excellence will serve as an inspirational professional standard.

Ideal candidates will have extensive professional ensemble singing experience as well as a deep facility and passion for musical education and connection.

Qualified tenors, baritones, and basses are invited to submit:

Dates: Arrival in Vancouver, BC: May 6, 2022

Final performance: May 14, 2022 10:00pm completion
Departure: May 15, 2020

Lodging: Homestays will be coordinated by Chor Leoni. Each singer will have a private room.

Meals: Breakfasts and four dinners provided.

Travel: All economy air and ground transportation included.
Travel and border crossing, if needed, will be coordinated by Chor Leoni.

Compensation: $2,300 CAD
