Bass Section Leader
Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) in Bethesda is looking to hire a Bass Section Leader to supplement and support its volunteer choir at this church with a long history of excellence in music. Basses, bass/baritones and baritones are encouraged to apply. The section leaders sing for Thursday night rehearsals (7:45pm-9:15pm), and the 10:30 Sunday Service (9:45am call), September through the first Sunday in June., approximately 80-90 calls per year at approximately $84.00/call. The choir sings two anthems per Sunday of varying repertoire from Renaissance through works commissioned for Bradley Hills through the Sutherland Endowment Fund. The Section Leaders sing solos and quartet works as needed. In addition to Sunday morning worship, Section Leaders sing for Christmas Eve, the evenings of Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, as well as two Services Easter Morning.
Bradley Hills offers an excellent musical experience to its section leaders as well as significant flexibility in needed time off for other professional engagements.
Applicants must have superb musicianship, significant choral experience at a high level, an ability to vary vocal timbre, the ability to work with and lead a section of volunteers of varied ability levels, to sing solos and in a consort setting at the highest artistic level, and to be a team player.
